Breakaway Device for lifting cords - Detach weight 2.8KG

Child Safety Products
The child safety Cord Breakaway (Clear) is a breakaway device designed to release the lifting cord from Roman Blinds when a force of 2.8kg or more is applied directly to a single lifting cord.
This eliminates any chance of the lifting cord forming a closed loop, and thus greatly reducing any chance of strangulation or injury that could possibly be caused by placing your head between the Roman Blind itself and the lifting cords.
The breakaway device should be sewed to the bottom of the Roman Blind in place of the traditional ring, grommet or knot used to attach the cords.
It should be sewed to the blind using the square loop at the bottom of the device, and then the cord is threaded through the separate small insert section. A knot is then tied so that the cord cannot slip back through the insert section.
The small insert section is then inserted (clicked) into the main section of the device, taking extra care that it is only inserted by one “bump” (please see the above picture).
IMPORTANT: Failure to ensure the inserted section is only inserted by one “bump” could result in failure to release under load.
As per any Roman Blind, care should be taken to ensure all the lifting cords are tied off evenly.
Notes:
1. As this breakaway device will detach with 2.8kg of force, it is important to ensure you use a sufficient number of lifting cords on the blind to avoid the breakaway device detaching during normal use.
2. If (for any reason) the device separates, it is easily reattached again by simply clicking the two parts of the device back together.
3. If (for any reason) the device separates, it is crucial that the device is reattached before the blind is operated again.
Failure to do so could result damage to the blind and blind control system, an
this damage will not be covered under warranty.
